People, Water & City: Redefining their relationship

The project SPA changes Londons relationship with water: from forgotten water ways into a new network of water celebrating interventions that are hybridizing bathing program and healthcare program with urban water infrastructure of the mega metropolis.
Through these interventions the projects ambition is to establish a new type of integrative healthcare. A care integrating body and mind, the human and the city machine. A care that becomes an integral part of our urban lives.
The project is embedded into the current discussions of the NHS, in particular mental health problems in the urban environment and the hidden water infrastructure of London. In relation to the NHS the projects tackles two important issues: the current reactive healthcare within the NHS system and the high proportion of mental health issues in the working culture of cities like London.

This project was my Diploma 13 project that I graduated with from the AA School in London. It was awarded with the AfH Design Awards in 2017.
